Tuesday and Wednesday aren't particularly packed days for TV, but there is one particularly fascinating new contender on Tuesday from J.J. Abrams...
Tuesday:
Fringe
8pm on Fox
"J.J. Abrams"! Can you hear the buzz building already?
Fringe surrounds the investigations of FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) into paranormal events (think X-Files), many of which are thought to be part of "The Pattern" which are mysterious experiments by an unknown entity. Olivia finds herself working with a motley crew comprised of crazy/formerly institutionalized Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), his esetranged son Peter (Joshua Jackson), nondescript Astrid Farnsworth (Jasika Nicole) and enigmatic Phillip Broyles (Lance Reddick).
With Lost's series finale looming in a couple years, J.J. Abrams has started up a new series to keep the massive amounts of cash flowing into his pockets. Honestly, I wish I wasn't such a sucker for JJ Abrams stuff, but here I am, unable to free myself from J.J.'s TV grasp. Between Lost and Heroes, I don't know if I can handle any more ambiguity, mystery, red herrings, and dropped threads, but only time will tell if Fringe is worth watching. If you missed the X-Files, this is sure to be right up your alley.
One last thing: Joshua Jackson?! But... he can't act! Why would you intentionally shoot yourself in the foot like this? He's not even hot. I call that a fumble, Fringe!
Wednesday:
Knight Rider
8pm on NBC
Taking place 25 years after the original series, Michael Knight's son finds himself the new drive for the new KITT. Crime fighting ensues.
I know there's a huge fad of series reboots and all, but Knight Rider? I wasn't sure if I was even going to bother posting on this, but you have to admit a car with autonomous A.I. sounds pretty nerdy. Too bad it's not enough to make me watch.
